Amateur football teams in Hamburg

Hi everyone,

I recently moved to Hamburg to work and wouldnt mind a regular game of football. Any idea's where i can find a team, preferably with some english players? I'm not the greatest of players so the team dont have to be great but i enjoy it for the social side as well as the excercise.

I live near othmarschen but will be moving to schlump at the start of next month if that helps.

We said on another tread that we could probably get 10 Toytowners together for a 5 a side game, perhaps once a week or something. Problem at the moment is where to play...not aware of any 5 a side pitches here.

Should clarify whether this is soccer or American football. I assume soccer.

Clarify? Nah, if there's no "American" in front it's obvious what it is, at least to everyone from this side of the Atlantic.

Well i also live with an American guy who also wants to play football or soccer as he calls it. he's as desperate to play as i am. so that adds another one to the tally.

I also know of a guy at work who plays but he plays with the older generation in the 55+ games (i think the oldest he said was born in 1933, he's the youngest at 56) but i think he plays 5 a side so i'll ask him where he does it and see if he can provide any answers.

i'll get back to you on that one though.

sorry that might have sounded a little offensive, it wasnt meant that way. i didnt mean the older generation as such but it was more the fact that he was the youngest and the rest were alot older.

I might be up for that, I'll be living in Lueneburg as of the 20th June, and would be looking to keep fit. I do karate so am pretty fit but kicking a ball about every week couldbe a bit of fun too

Just a quick note to let you know that if any of you are interested in a massage after your games I offer discounts for members of any sports team (no matter how amateur!).

In Sydney my client base was predominantly made up off football and tennis players, body builders, swimmers etc so I'm experienced with sports injuries and post training rub downs.
