Where to watch British football in Cologne - Germany

Hello All,

I'm flying into Cologne on Tuesday 13th May to work on a show at the Köln Messe GmbH. I'm also an avid Palace fan who is gutted I'll be missing out on the second leg of our playoffs semi finals.

I was wondering if anyone knows of a pub close by (I believe my hotel is the Ibis Hotel Koeln City Messe/Arena) where I can watch the game.

Any help would be so much appreciated.

The closest would be the Irish pubs in the Altstadt which is just across the river from the Messe and easy enough to get to by tram. At least two of the pubs will be showing the games. If you can confirm your hotel details I'm sure one of us kindly Kölsch Leute will give you more precise directions.

That's fairly straightforward then. From your hotel just amble down to the tram stop outside the Messe you want the platform nearest the Messe (direction Bocklemünd) any tram will do from there as it is only one stop.

Get off the tram at Deutz Hbf and go down the escalator to the underground section walk across the concourse and take the escalator down to the far platform (direction Weiden), again you can get any tram as it is just 2 stops.

Get off at Heumarkt (it's the stop immediately after crossing the river). Cross the road towards the big square, walk straight through this square and into the next one (Altermarkt) at the far end of this square on the left hand side is the Corkonian which should be showing the game. Turn left at the end of the square and 100 metres up the road on the right hand side is Barney Vallely's which is definitely showing the game.

Yep, head to Corkonian, i myself shall be heading there for the match too! should be a good game!

Thanks for the tip off of the Corkonian guys. Unfortunatly the palace didn't win the other tuesday, but the atmosphere for the champions league final was great in there last night.
