Keydeck - groups like sex(m/f), nationality, age, interest - is that what you call a group of friends?
I sort of understand your sentence. Instead of thinking of it in terms of "
There used to be one big group going out and now it's all split up" think of it in terms of "
Toytown is much bigger than it used to be and so can cater to lots of different types of groups.". Someone who attends TT Tuesday might also pop along for a curry the following night and then go to the book-club meetup. There is a lot more variety in what organised events are now available. I don't see any segregation though.
Sure, there are specific things which don't cater to an open audience. For example, I'm not exactly in a position to toddle along to the inscrutable 20-somethings nights, but the point is that there are now enough people involved in TT to cater for the general all-encompassing nights such as TT Chewsday and the
Curry Night (so long as they're not mid bitchfest) alongside more specifically directed events.
