What to watch tonight?

I wanna go to a movie with my girlfriend tonight. Just wondered if any of you have a nice movie (in english) you could recommend, preferably something funny or entertaining not Der Untergung or too much hardware kinda stuff.
jml
if you want fluff, i heard shark tale was good froma couple of people...got mixed reviews though. have a nice date wink.gif
Topsy
I heard Motorcycle Diaries was supposed to be good. I think they call it Die Reisen des jungen Ché or something in German. I'm not sure where it's showing, though. It's what I would go see at the moment (or maybe Manchurian Candidate).
Have a great time smile.gif

or "shall we dance" is way better than expected.. Bourne Supremacy is fab. I'm going to see "the forgotten" tonight, but that's a bit heavier I think.

Topsy is right, those 2 sound good, too. I've just seen everything on offer at Mathäser as it's on the way home and in OV so relaxed...
noddy
not in the cinema, but i watched 'the recruit' on dvd last weekend, robert de niro playing with colin farell's tiny little mind, the best movie i have seen in a long time.
Elfenstar
agree with JB, shall we dance was a really nice, good-natured film.
JoolyBooly
yep! and that's why i posted a thread about going to Kino today, as after the film I met Bee_sting, and she'd seen you... we were all in the same flipping film, seperately! wacko.gif
so I promised to post next time I go
Elfenstar
well can i invite myself to go see the forgotten, or is it a date thing? just called bf up and he just lost 5 hrs of work (excel crashed) so i have nothing to do tonight.

English language movies currently showing in Munich

I think The Forgotten is the most talked about of this weeks new releases.
JoolyBooly
Sure you can come! I shall be buying my ticket at 7.45pm, it starts at 8. I'll PM you my mobile now..
tench
I'd stay away from 'the machinist'

Thank all for the recommendations. I think we gonna go for Shall We Dance. I will save The Forgotten for some other day. Not in mood for creepy stuff tinight. smile.gif
erdbeere
terminal was cute.
Hellcat
i really enjoyed 'the machinist'
gills
I thought The Terminal was an over-the-top Hollywood stinker. I like Tom Hanks... but the movie was a groaner. The commercials before the movie were far more entertaining (like the girl cracking a walnut in her arse...)
greg
i just saw the "Manchurian Candidate" which although slick, was a bit of a let down. Conspiricy buffs will love it though. I thought it was saved a bit by Meryl Streep, who did her role so well it was scary.

I saw the Bourne Supremacy tonight, and enjoyed it. Not a chick flick, but speaking as a chick with a very low tolerance for the blood and gore of typical guy movies, it was very good. Well acted, lots of suspense, the violence wasn't overdone and only used where it worked with the plot.

One of the scenes was set in Munich, and the weather was lousy in the movie too. :-)
3 Lions
The scene was set in Munich, but was actually filmed in Berlin! dry.gif
Katrina
blurry cheats it was sooo in Berlin! Oops !Gaaaah! Booly here

Happened to catch The Terminal over here in the US.

Garbage. Absolute trash. Shocked that this was a Spielberg movie. This film has more cheese than a stinky cheeselover's pizza at pizzahut.
greg
I don't see that you should be shocked. Spielberg, whilst having some notable successes is also quite a regular producer (or director) of cheese (jurassic park - especially 2 & 3, Hook, Minority Report, Always, and plenty of moments in the Indiana Jones series)... however I would rate Indiana Jones as being ok all round. They are meant to be fun and cheesy.
erdbeere
the terminal was not garbage. punkt.
satish
I thought the Terminal was good... If you take it for what it is and go with the flow, its actually quite original
Ravski
Recently watched the Incredibles - it was a good film if your into your digital animation
