Aussie meet up in Munich

After living in Europe for over 10 years, I am beginning to miss speaking Australian. Are there other Australians in Munich who would like to gather occasionally for a beer/wine/coffee/chai? I have met a couple of Aussies over here, and have found it is good fun to hang out a bit with folks of the same background, who share the same humour, and don't have a heart attack when you playfully tell them to "fuck off". (Australians really do swear a lot more than Germans, nicht wahr?).

Count me in as well. I am currently travelling (US this week and then Melbourne next 2) so see you guys ater 24th.

Cool. Lets find a date after the 24th May then, when ozged gets back from my hometown Melbourne.

Shall we just pencil in the 25th late afternoon in then? And hope it's nice beergarden weather. Sundays are good for me. During the week, I can only do afternoons, busy evenings. Coffe at Gärtnerplatz would be a weekday afternoon option for me.

The weekend of June 1st is bad for me, but pick a day and I'll try to make it.

The 25th will be the last day of a long weekend for some (friday is a "bridge day" for many as thursday is a holiday). They may travell away as a result.

Why don't you organise it so you can incorporate that great aussie past-time, the footy!?! Come down and watch the Munich Kangaroos play at the Hirschgarten, then pop across to the biergarten afterwards!

bec22, ozged and I have agreed to go for a beer (and I am getting a personal delivery of violet crumble!) on Sunday the 25th afternoon directly after ozged's return from Melbourne. (This was before I saw that other people have posted in the last few days).

How about Hofbräukeller, Wiener Platz area, in Haidhausen. 5 pm, Sunday 25th May.

I can't do 1st of June...Might be hard to find a date when everyone has time, so lets just add a second alternative/additional date right now.

Anyone who can't make it on the 25th, how about Friday 6th of June, 7pm. The beer garden at the Viktualienmarket would be nice and central.

The meet-up doesn't have to only happen once a month like an official stammtisch, just anytime anyone feels like it, right?
