Hey.
Does anybody have any recommendations regarding the
industrial scene in
berlin? Basically, i'm looking for Clubs/Bars that play industrial/techno
music but are not trendy/gentrified. I'm looking for places that have people
Dancing around in Gasmasks,
Skinheads (Not Nazi's!) etc. I was reading a post here in which a guy mentioned about these type's of
clubs being in the east, though did not mention any places inparticular as he did not seem so keen on it.
Any Suggestions would be welcomed
Thankyou.

Never been, but done a quick search on the net. Try researching Club K17 in Berlin, Pettenkoferstraße 17 A, 10247 Berlin. Maybe Google for some images too.

K:ita features some performances of industrial artists, K17 has sometimes industrial parties (but is at first a metal club), at RAW-Tempel are sometimes the Schlagstrom parties, but the crowd there is rather normal, some hardcoretechno mixed with industrial is sometimes played at Hangar (Markgrafendamm). But I don't know about the very real thing you're looking for. Turbine (glogauer straße) is known for it's techno/fetish scene, but Industrial happens there not often.

Thanks for the suggestions.
Of those mentioned, i would assume Hangar was the club most suited. Do you have any opinions on this club? I suppose somewhere that is gritty and plays techno/Goa trance is along the lines of what i'm looking for. I'm not particulary looking for fetish in the sense of the Kit Kat club. Just some kind of warehouse style place that is not trendy, and people can be free to do what they like. I'm not sure about Tresor or Berghain, the former seems to attract a very homogenous crowd i.e people who are very serious about electronic music, and the latter seemingly very pretentious.
Would anybody suggest any of the Gay Bars to be quite gritty? I get the impression the
Schoneberg scene is very plastic, bars playing madonna etc.
Thanks.

Lot of gritty gay bars in Berlin. And probably more of them in eastern part of the city than in
Schöneberg.

Ah, alright. Hangar seems to be good for you, though sometimes it's a bit short of crowd (it varies from weekend to weekend). At least it's one of the most uncommercial partyplaces in Berlin.
Also Zementgarten and unkul, Pyonen (shortly opened in Mitte), pulp mansion, VCF/Faces, ministerium für entspannung and ZMF may suit you. The best of course was deep club, but it's closed (just opened for one night at NYE) right now. Berghain is a must of course, but it's very touristy (nonetheless great music, great sound and great architecture). Tresor is not that great anymore. Lots of stupid people these days.

K17 is NOT a metal club it is a gothic club. Try Treptower insel Königin der Nacht kdn.de
Once or twice a month K17 has Industrial music playing as I go there myself

Of course is K17 a metal club. It is also a Gothic club, well. If you want to, we can go there to see some nice death metal.

Is that a line from a death metal band's song?

It's from a song by Ladytron, an electro band, who recently supported NIN. You might like it. Or are you more AndOne, Combichrist, VNV Nation?

I cannot stand Combichrist but I do like the hard stuff, Grendel, Hocico, ESC, E-Craft etc

Does Zementgarten play techno music? Also, any suggestions for a wednesday night in berlin, particulary these kinds of techno clubs mentioned. I get the impression many are only open on Friday/Saturday.
Still, I don't think i've quite found my gasmask club yet!
Thanks.

have you asked down the squat in Kopanikstr?
TobyG.

Köpi (köpenicker straße) is mostly HC/punk. Rarely electronic or industrial music.
http://www.koepi137.net/eventskonzerte.htmZementgarten is a mixture of various electronic styles. Techno to House to minimal.
www.zementgarten.netWednesday (in this order to the most gentrified

: Tresor, Fire Club, Delicious Doughnuts, Ruderclub, Watergate. sometimes also (not that commercial as the above): RAW-Tempel. sexually connoted also Kitkat and Club Culture Houze. Before holiday (for example today) of course more clubs are open.

I think you're talking about the music hall. I personally don't like it. It's more like some discos located in some outskirts of berlin...
