Restaurants by the English Gardens

I want to find a restaurant within walking distance of the English Garden... so that I can take clients to dinner, then go on a horse-drawn carraige ride around the Garden. Any suggestions?

there is a very nice Italian Restaurant (i have heard, although i have never been there myself) on the Tivolistrasse, within about 300m of the Chinese Tower just before you get to the Isar.

And of course there is also the Restaurant at the Chinese Tower itself, or the restaurant at Seehaus.

Any preference on price or cuisine? I hear theres an actual upscale (but worth it) restaurant in the Gartens near the seehaus as well.

If you're looking for low key, there's a nice little Bavarian place called Lieb and Seele. Its standard neighborhood place. Its a block or so from the Paradiese Strasse Bahn stop, which is right off the English Garten.

No preference on cuisine and I think that we can go medium to high-end on this, price-wise. Thanks for the suggestions... now I just have to figure out the horse carraige thing! I'll start a new thread on that one

The Reitschule on Koniginstr is really nice - not terrifically expensive but just nice - espec in summer cos they have a terrace

Also a really good French restaurant is the Werneckhof - reassuringly expensive and great food. V close to Eng Garten

yes, the seehaus place that jml mentioned is good.
we took clients there once, it's very impressive

El Cortijo, Feilitzstrasse - there is a little Spanish restuarant walking distance from the Englisher Garten. Exit Muenchnerfreiheit take a ® it's about 2 or 3 blocks down on the right. nice atmosphere and good for conversation.
