Help needed to locate my mother-in-law's brother
alimatt
I am trying to locate my Mother-in-laws brother for her, Peter Schneider. The last time that she seen him was in 1980 when she flew to Germany. She has lost contact with him and really wants to reconnect. The best information she can recall is that he was living in Stuttgart Germany in 1980 and his wifes name is Heidi. My mother-in-laws name is Brigitte and her and Peter's fathers name is (was) Max Schneider. I am unsure if he is still living. Brigitte's mother made sure she had no contact with her father. Brigitte and Peter has different mothers & Brigitte was brought to the United States when she was eight years old.
It's funny because after all of these years in the States she still has a real thick German accent.
If anyone could help us, it would be so greatly appreciated. I will continue the search for Peter until I find him so Brigitte can have the peace in her life. Her mother has passed away & she has a lot of unanswered questions about her father.
Please help!
Thank you,
Alicia

Hello everyone! I am one of then new Newbie's that are here to annoy all of you with a bunch of questions that we can't get answers for here in the States. I wish I knew about this site a long time ago, it would of made things a lot easier. When there is a language barrier, it is hard to get the information that you need. To begin with, I have to say that Germany is such a beautiful country, I was there for four months when I was 17 and I was in awe with the beauty of your country.I lived in Bamberg(sp), with my sister & brother-in-law, he was stationed there in the Army. We'll just say that it has been quite some time ago. Ha!
My main goal for coming on here is trying to locate my mother-in-laws brother, Peter Schneider. The best recollection she has is that he resided in Stuttgart Germany & is married to Heidi, that was back in 1980. My mother-in-law, Brigitte, flew to Germany in 1980 to see Peter & that was the last time that they have had contact with one another. Brigitte & Peter had different mother's and their father's name is (was) Max Schneider. Brigitte is unsure if her father is still alive. Brigitte's mother would not allow her to have any contact with her father and then Brigitte's family came to the United States when she was eight years old. Brigitte tried asking her mother through the years about her dad but her mother refused to speak of him and now her mother has passed away & Brigitte has a lot of unanswered questions.
If there is anyone that could help our family with finding Peter so we could reunite these two, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
alimatt

"Peter Schneider" is a very common name in germany. If you try www.dastelefonbuch.de you´ll find seven "Peter Schneider" in Stuttgart alone and a few more with similar names. I guess you could call them... Good luck with your search.

Welcome to Toytown. Just so you know, it's essentially a forum for English-speaking foreigners residing in Germany.

Good luck with your search!

According to the Telephone book there are 8 Peter Schneiders in Stuttgart, you could try calling or writing to them.
