Three-room flat sought in central/east Munich

Hi Toytowners,
I am new to the site although I have been living here in Frankfurt here these past couple of years. I am about to move to Munich, this coming week in fact, and although I have accommodation sorted out from the beginning of May through the end of July I will be requiring a new long term arrangement from the beginning of August. Ideally I am looking for a 2-3 room apartment in Central / East side of Munich. So if any of you guys are wending your way during the Summer and have something you think I may be interested in I would be happy to hear from you.

I have always thought this site needs a thread on hot apartment tips! OK, I will start.

In Friemann, the one by the U6 stop Kieferngarten, there are several apartments up for rent. This is a cool area as there is greenery, a large park, the U-bahn connection, grocery shopping here and nearby at EuroIndustriePark and the area is serviced by the NiteLine buses that run after normal people go to bed.

Basically, most the places here are more family oriented or larger apartments at mostly reduced prices for the size compared to just a km or two towards Schwabing.

thanks for the fast reply & info. As I said since I have a short term solution until end July so I have some breathing space but would be interested in checking out the area you propose. As it happens my temporary solution is Schwabing based, near Hohenzollernplatz so I will have a cycle ride up there next week and take a look. Do you have any contact points for the appartments you mention may be available?
