It's Tuesday night at Gator's Pub and Grif is back behind the bar for another tour in a losing conflict. He hasn't seen his girlfriend all day. The good old boys are tweaking and his ex has dropped by for a couple of beers. The old man he keeps kicking out keeps coming back. And when "Love Shack" fires up the jukebox, the whole place melts down. "One Flew East" takes a look at the lives of those who always struggle to see beyond the horizon, but never get passed the next round of drinks.

Michael Haeflinger is a writer, educator, and organizer from Dayton, OH. He is half of the crew that presents Beat Street, a monthly English language poetry reading series. He has lived in Berlin since June 2007. You can find him online here. "One Flew East" is his first play.

I would like to see this but cannot that evening. Is this the only date it will be staged in May?

I am afraid so. But it is possible that we do a staged reading after the script is reworked again, and I am aiming for a fall premiere on stage. I will be sure to post something and thanks for the interest.

I am afraid this is the only staged reading planned so far. I would like to put it up in the fall with actors and blocking and set design, but perhaps we will do another staged reading before that. Thanks for your interest.

After having our first rehearsal last night, I think we are set and ready to give you, das liebe Publikum, a great reading of the play. Don't bring any milk, as it may end up coming out your nose.
