Car parking locations in central Munich

Info and advice
mark_king05
Hi,

I have friends coming to visit me in July from England, and for some reason they decided to drive here.

I really need some information of places to park, free or non-free. I live in Schleissheimer strasse near Nordbad so anywhere remotely near there would be helpful.

I have read about how hard it is to park in Munich anyway but was wondering if there was anyway round it. Could i get a residence parking permit for where i live?, how much does it cost? how easy is it to get one?

Thank you for your help,

Mark

Your cryptic response confuses me. What do you mean?

It shouldn't be that hard to find street parking near there. Hell, most of the city isn't that bad as long as you park before people get home from work tongue.gif

If you go up Schleissheimer sstr the next above herzog on the left parking is free there all day and usually lots of spaces somewhere between there and the Ackermann bogen. Otherwise the official parking spaces cost €6.00 per full day. I do understand the problem I have tried to park a hire car around here. €6.00 is €6.00, especially when you may have to move and start again. People love to show their superiority by bashing apparently naive posts. Ignore.

I live in Milbertshofen, plenty of parking here free on the street if it's that damn hard. Take the U-bahn back.

Thank you very much for your responses.

I just thought that you needed a Parkausweis all around Herzogstrasse because all the cars i see have a rectangular green badge with a shiny sticker on it, in the front window of the car. And the signs with the big white P's on a blue background say about ausweis's. So can i park where there is a big P for 6.00 euros a day for all day and night, or park where there is a street without a big P.

Thanks.
