Toytown Germany
Nov 10 2004, 11:45 pm
Every Wednesday evening at an Indian restaurant in Munich. Location varies each week.
Curry night is not just about having good food but also about having great time and lots of fun. The cultural diversity of people who are regularly part of this event is as colorful as the curry itself with all its different flavors and spices.
We particularly encourage newbies to join us and they are heartily welcome. It is one of the best events to ease yourself into Toytown where you can make instant friends over drinks and fine food in a pressure-free, casual atmosphere.
Come join us cuz when you are here, you are family.

Deeba has a reputation of being one of the best - something it unfortunately didn't live up to last time CN I was there. At least with the cabbage-laced chicken tikka.

Yes!
Deeba.
Weren't they closed for renovation? If so, looking forward to seeing what they did.
Maybe my favorite uncle can come around the corner, too.

I would love to join and bring a few non TT english speakers with me (from the law school program we're all a part of). Anywhere is fine. There's a place we've been going on the corner of Rosenheimer and Pariser, Although I dont know the name because the buildings under renovation and its under scaffolding. Somewhere new would be awesome too.

I have a leaflet stuck through the door today advertsing a place called
Krishna (the website is under construction at the moment) at Neureuthstrasse 8. I see it hasn't been picked up yet by TT, and I wondered if anyone knew anything about it?
The menu looks northern Indian/Pakistani but the prices look a little bit better than Sangam/Sangeet.
The most interesting thing is that something like 60 seats outside so maybe it will be a good candidate for a TT CN on a properly sunny day.

Anyone fancy going to a different
curry night?
I dont fancy sitting with a gobshite that takes over every curry night and TTT thread...

I think that we should wait until the website is up and more information is generally available. Also, can you please check the street name? I couldn't find it on my map. Cheers.

Assuming
Deeba is the final choice, is there a recommended watering hole, staggering distance from the restaurant?
Jeeves
Jul 16 2008, 8:41 am
Tresznewski's (sp?) usually, two doors away

Sorry that was Neureutherstrasse 8 (corner Schraudolphnstr). As it is close, I might check it out myself but wanted to know if anyone else had heard-of or been there first.

Reservation made for 22. I told him I will ring if it looks like more.
He asked if we would like to sit outside to which I replied yes, if it isn't too cool.
Open to any opinions on that.

The only thing about sitting outside is the way the tables are setup. I think you have to sit in groups of 4 or 5.
fraufruit
Jul 16 2008, 12:48 pm
Can anyone confirm?
Flapdoll
Jul 16 2008, 12:55 pm
You can sit in a big group outside, he will arrange the tables if you inform him
fraufruit
Jul 16 2008, 1:50 pm
He knows our group well and I trust that he will seat us together. I will inquire when I ring with the final numbers.
Thanks, Flappy.

What's the biggest table they can offer?
Will the 14 eunuchs sing some celestial tunes?

Planning to come by around 7, didn't sign up, kind of a last minute decision.
Hope it's not going to be too many, if so I can take a book and go eat a burger at Trebenskis or whatever it's called on the corner but I'd prefer a curry and some English chit chat

Weather is nice and they can set up a king's size table outside.
No problems.
Now, who's the king?
