Anzac Day happenings in Berlin

Calling all Kiwis, Aussies and enthusiasts in Berlin! Anything happening for ANZAC day??

You know I clean forgot that ANZAC day was coming up...I could be up for something though I'm having a beer with my landlady at some point that evening too.

Sigh. So many units of drink, so few days to have them in.

Won't we be requiring poppies of some kind?

Umm, it did occur to me after I wrote my reply that perhaps you weren't meaning going out for ANZAC day but more of a dawn service thingo. See this is my problem, always thinking in terms of going out...

What exactly did you envisage doing??

Belushi's at Rosa Luxemburg Platz should be a goer, it's run by an Aussie and they had tons of people for Australia Day there.

Yeah dawn ceremony would be kinda the more appropriate thing, but was definatley thinking evening drinks tribute. We're new to the city (2 days!) so any ideas would be choice. Belushi's sounds good. Heard there were a few Kiwi bars too. Maybe an Aussie/ Kiwi pub crawl!?!?

NoJo, you live in the same suburb as I! I was going to go to Cafe M on Goltzstrasse in Schöneberg to have a beer with my landlady. Got to work quite late today (like, er, now) so I will have to leave quite late too.

There is a Kiwi bar in Steglitz. I haven't been there yet but from their website (http://www.kiwi-pub.de/) I can see that they have MONTEITHS!! Oh how divine.

poppies...hmm, mebbe I should do some colour printing here at work.

I vote for the place in Steglitz purely on the basis of Montheith's. But maybe we should go somewhere more well-trodden? I have been here a few months myself so I'm not the best one to ask.
