I've been waiting for this movie to come out for about 2 years now and I'm not about to go and see it like a billy, so...
Place:
http://www.cinema-muenchen.com/englisch/default.htm
When: 26.10. 22:45
But lets meet for a beer a couple of hours before in the Löwenbraü bierkeller. (No point in seeing it sober now is there?)
So if you want to come and see it with me hit the "Groovy Baby" poll button and I'll see about the tickets.
I might even buy you a beer if you have the balls to come dressed up...

There's also a pretty reasonable indian restaurant as well as my favourite Mexican restaurant, just around the corner, so I'll probably eat some food there before I join you.

AM, your favourite mexican is not Enchilada by any chance is it? If so, the review in groovy munich is pretty funny: "If you arrive after visiting the nearby Cinema on Nymphenburgerstrasse, best of luck finding a spot, because everyone else with the intelligence of a gnat has had that idea too."
Not saying I agree with that statement, I'm just reporting what it says.
Personally I think Citta cafe opposite the cinema is very under-rated. They have comfy sofas and the paninis are excellent.

Yes, Enchiladas is my favourite Mexican restaurant - and it does indeed get pretty busy (which is not surprising considering how good the food is) although I've never had a problem getting a seat. Of course that's probably because I don't go right after seeing a film, unless I first take the precaution of booking a table.
OK, so it's Enchiladas, Löwenbraü and then the Kino...
... I love it when a plan comes together.

I want to come too!! Is it too late? The poll's not working anymore...

Kathie, you have to log in to get the poll option. Then you can vote away.

She must have already been logged in, otherwise she wouldn't have been able to post her question...

Hey Spud, don't go logical on me. I can't handle it.
Hmmm... ok, you can still come.
I'm going to get all Headteacher on you now and set a deadline of the 23rd for people who want to come, otherwise we might not get enough tickets...

I also suggest that you BUY all of the tickets on the 23rd, so that we can get seats together.

I'm sorry to say that I'm one of the two miserable b'stards who voted "not my bag baby".
However, experience tells me that for a new, and much awaited film such as this you may wanna reserve the tickets more in advance than just 3 days. Especially seeing as the film will have only opened that Thursday.
You could reserve, say, 8 tickets right now, and then cancel two of them if need be. They don't mind cancellations. Even if you buy the tickets and then don't need them the cinema will buy them back. They are amazingly accomodating and un-Germanly helpful like that.
Just my tip for ya, as a long-time "Munich Cinema" goer.
How do you know which people voted yes (I did for one), you don't want to get stood up by all these anonymous Toytowners...

That's a good point. Also, what if someone drops out after Al has bought the tickets? Well actually I doubt he'd have any trouble selling them at the door, but still...
I'm definitely up for it though.
Al,
If you are getting tickets, I'll actually want 2.

i voted no too jakey, but if i were around, i would go 'cause it sounds like so much fun. and yeah, you can reserve as many seats as you want, then you know how many you have to buy by whoever shows up. ciao.
OK, I'll book 10 tickets ASAP and we can cancel later.
I'll need to know who's coming the week before, and also if you are coming for something to eat.
I feel like a boyscout leader or summut. Only without the short trousers...

when does the movie start? oct. 25? and i thought only german's were well-thought-out-planning sort of people.
OK, so it looks like that's 8 People in total then, are you all coming to Enchilada's?
I will book a table for 8 at 8.30pm unless I hear otherwise...
... I mean honestly, who throws a shoe?
Right, Enchilada's is quite literally off the menu. Apparently it's club night on Saturday, so we will have to find somewhere else to eat. :x
Any suggestions?

We could try the Indian restaurant nearby, although it's probably pretty antisocial for 8-10 curry-stinking people to sit in the cinema.
Btw if you have any tickets spare, I'd like an extra one! But please let me know asap, as I need to contact my mate and let him know.

Do you want a restaurant that is within close walking distance to Cinema, or are you willing to go a bit further out? That is, a short
U-Bahn ride or a slightly longer walk?
Curry, but don't forget the beer too! Yup, I have reserved 10 tickets so we still have one spare... Is your mate coming for something to eat?
I'm cool about where we eat, but we could do with booking pretty smartish if there are 8/9 of us coming...

Oct 24 2002, 5:10 pm
Embarrassingly enough after having begged to be allowed to come, I'm not going to be able to make it
So, Aquatic, you can have my ticket if you haven't already got one...
Sorry folks, another time hopefully.

Just to confirm that I *will* be taking the extra ticket. The real question is, how will I know who the hell you are?

Okay, just out of curiousity and trying to figure it out, how many people are coming exactly, where are we going for food and drink before and has someone booked a table?
No worries Kathie, OK, so we are back down to 8.
I'm going to book a table at the Maharani, its on Rottmannstr, number 24.
http://www.hot-maps.de/Well, if we all meet at a restaurant you can ask the waiter for the 'Knabe' party and then you should come straight to us.

Or you could avoid the suspense by looking at Al's website.
By the way, I'll be going to the movie aswell. Being a muppet I didn't realise it was the double feature you're going to and booked my tickets for it seperately. Probably won't go to the meal though, so see you at the cinema!
I know, it's great isn't it...
8:30 if you are eating...

Ai, it was a good craic, thanks for coming!

good effort Al, heaps of fun. Those people who left before Ali G started don't know what they missed (unless they have already seen it)
