I HAVE BEEN IN SENIOR MANAGEMENT FOR SEVERAL YEARS, AND AM AWARE THAT THIS IS A STEP BACK IN MY CAREER, BUT HOW FAR A STEP BACK? ANY ADVICE WOULD BE GREATLY RECIEVED. MY SALES BACKGROUND HAS BEEN IN THE MEDIA AND THE AUTOMOTIVE INDUSTRIES.

1) Stop shouting.
2) Plan to take 3-6 months out and learn decent German (if you do it properly this is enough time to get you going), no-one really needs a Frankfurt-based sales guy who only speaks english.
3) Whether you will have to take a career hit depends on what exactly you mean by "Sales Management", "Automotive Industry" and "Senior Management".
4) Try and join some networking websites - The German business one is "Xing" and it should have a local Frankfurt group that will have local meetings that are useful for networking and they certainly have an automotive group where you can look for a job.
5) Get your CV up on as many job websites (Monster etc) as possible and state your desired geographical area as Hessen/Frankfurt.
6) Take a look at Tier 1 and 2 suppliers around Frankfurt - There is a cluster around Aschaffenburg including Intier
7) Try and get your contacts in OZ to open some doors for you in D

Good luck.
