We're Canadians, transferred to the Berlin area about 6 months ago. We're starting to miss the Canuck culture and were wondering if there were any other Canadians or Canadian Groups in the Berlin area?

What is a Canadian Pizza? Greasy greek one with a thick fluffy crust? Strange toppings like Flying Wedge?

Don't know if it's "real canadian pizza" (no idea of what this is anyway), but the owners are canadian. It's big (about 60cm) pizza with, indeed, strange toppings.

There is a new official "Canadian expats in Berlin" meet-up. It has 20 members already and meets once a month. First two meetings were great and hoping for many more.

Meetings are always the 20th of each month (except special events) and the location changes. The location is usually posted by the beginning of the month.
The first was at Belushi's, the next was at Tim's... just waiting for word on the next location. Suggestions are always welcomed.

hmm...bit foggy on what exactly constitutes Canadian pizza as well, though if it comes with dipping sauce the experience should be complete. agreed on the strangeness of pizza toppings here though. Pizza Jack, my usual delivery place, is now advertising a "Pizza Germany" in time for the European Cup that actually has Bratkartoffeln on it! don't really know that much about the canadian expat community here either, though I've been here 2 years now. only time I actually participated in any organized event was for Canada Day last year in the Mauerpark. Nice to hear there are regular meetings though! how big is the group that usually shows up?

We had 15 show up last Sunday which isn't bad for our second meet-up. The more members that join, the more that show up of course.
It is not a forum, just a place to connect. Check out:

Maybe Canadian pizza has Canadian Bacon? Just a thought. I do recall Pizza Hut in Winnipeg having a Canadian pizza - it was all meat!

Winnipeg? Nobody comes from Winnipeg!
Pissa hut only uses Canadian Bacon on its Pissas! Found that out in Florida. Had it confirmed on Winterpeg.

The Canadian Pizza Place is GREAT!! They sell reese's peanut butter cups and they have a giant moose head on the wall. it is a bit small though, and yes the toppings are very strange.

Hello all, I am the Canadian Expat in Berlin Meet up. Just thought I'd introduce myself. We meet every 20th of the month with some other activities in between as members would like.
Whoah whoah whoah, I just saw something about Reeses Peanut Butter Cups!!! Where is this place, I think that sounds good for our next meetup.

Heya Gertrude..
The Canadian pizza place at Dieffenbachstraße 62 has Reese's Peanut Butter Cups. I am totally for going and showing you where it is you want to go for a pizza and some sweet sweet peanut butter cups!
