somewhere
Found out about this from a colleague today, they resell furniture and all things donated by other people at low prices while providing training for people who have not found jobs for a while (Langzeitarbeitlosen), so they offer 1 euro job as retraining to hopefully help them to get ready for the job market.

Went by and the people working there are really nice and well, it also helps other less fortunate to get some furniture at lower prices.

They will arrange the pick up and I think might even offer some money for the item (not too much I'm afraid). It's better and easier than having to carry the unwanted furniture and all to Sperrmüll though. So do consider it.

If you are looking for some used furniture, does not hurt to take a look there personally. They have some glasses and all sorts of knick knack for the kitchen, some lighting and also oven and such.

a simple way to encourage germans to recycle things is by throwing whatever you want to get rid of into a dustbin. Within minutes it will have been fished out and reused.
