Disposal of car oil in Frankfurt

Can I take it to any petrol station?

OK so I have just changed the oil in my car. Previously it was always done at the garage during service or similar so I have not needed to dispose of it before.

According to the FES I can dispose of it at a petrol station but it says they require a receipt. Can I assume the receipt for the oil I have just bought and put into the car is enough? Does anybody know?

At the moment it is in a container in the garage so not really urgent but we cannot keep it there forever...

Wait, what? Am I misinterpreting this? It sounds like you are asking whether you can only bring back to the gas station, the exact oil you purchased … presumably after using it in your engine for 5,000 km or so. The answer is no, they don’t care, and couldn't easily tell.

I don't know if they require you to return it in the same container it was purchased in though. I plan on doing that, simply because its easier.

“waaaaait a minute, this doesn’t taste like the oil I sell!” wink.gif

Well yes that was the question as that is what I understood. It did sound crazy to me too but somethings still never cease to amaze me. Thanks for the info smile.gif

Take it to your local Betriebshof.

I have a nifty oil-drip-pan-cum-recycling-container I use for the tractor and mower ... once it's filled up, I take it to the town dump and dump it into a big bucket of motor oil.
