The basic forms and straightforward styles of Modernist Architecture as embodied in the Bauhaus School were a revolutionary reaction to the ornate and adorned stylings of pre-WWI establishment architecture.
Belorussian architect Igor V. Lapunov, based in Moscow, will examine the development of the Bauhaus school, describe its key inluencers and explore its tremendous impact on contemporary architecture while also discussing one of the most significant remaining legacies of original Bauhaus architecture – the Weissenhofsiedlung right here in Stuttgart.
This program will take place in the DAZ Conference Room - Deutsch-Amerikanisches Zentrum - Charlottenplatz (www.daz.org) - Charlottenplatz 17 - third floor - corner entrance in the courtyard of Amedeas Restaurant
