Hi Folks,

Can't really help you but there is a children's theatre on Dachauerstr. It might be worth checking to see if they are organising anything.

Cait,

The natives are slowly getting the hang of Halloween.. but I've been here five years and haven't seen a trick or treater yet! As for Halloween parties...it could be a do it yourself job!

Try contacting some of the children's clubs that are listed in Munich Found magazine. Maybe one of them is organising something and wouldn't mind your niece tagging along. Or something at one of the international schools. There's certainly no trick-or-treating. And may I add I would have been devastated to miss Halloween at the age of 8 as well.

Meant to get this here earlier--there's a Halloween party at Gemeindesaal der Kreuzkirche--at Hiltenspergersstrasse 55 (off the Hohenzollernplatz U-Bahn stop) from 16:00-18:00 on 31/10/03, 5 euros per kinder. You can reserve a spot, or ask for more information, at halloween@sphairos-communications.de

Hope this helps.

Just helped my niece to get her halloween party organized. She lives in France, so I can't invite your kids to come along rolleyes.gif

The trick 'n' treat-thing is still very unknown, especially in the city-area. Why don't you ask your niece to paint a halloween-picture and attach it to a short explaination what halloween and trick 'n' treat is all about and hand out a copy of it to all of yours neighbours. I'm pretty sure that they'll go and buy some sweets than. If not, bring them to my place, I've just been shopping and prepairing for halloween.

I did read this in MunichFound:

QUOTE
Munich’s International Women’s Club presents a Children’s Halloween Party from 4 to 6 pm at the Kreuz Kirche, with proceeds going to the Ronald McDonald House at the Herzzentrum (reservations: [089]31 40 81 59)

It's probably the same thing as papa geno's post, but it didn't hurt to cut 'n paste...

I was amazed to hear from a women I teach that 4 kids came around to her house trick or treating! And they weren't simply relatives! And she had candy to give them!

We had two different lots of trick or treaters at our house too...

Does anyone know of any pumpkin patches near Munich where kids can go and choose a pumpkin right out of the field? I don't mean the places on the side of the road where you just pick a pumpkin from the table and leave the money...preferably a place where they are doing it up for Halloween. It seems to be getting bigger every year. And, as long as I am on this topic, are there any Halloween parties for kids this year that anyone can recommend? Thanks in advance, and Happy Halloween!!!

Ok I am taking this from a link from Fark.com

But I had so many laughs from this...especially the commentaries.
Read it. What not to wear on Halloween!!

Sorry Jen PW, I've only seen the piles by the side of the road where they charge ca. EUR 4 for an already cut (huge) pumpkin.
