I was wondering if anyone knew of a "modern" love poem or story that is written in German with an English translation. I want to add this element into our wedding day...

schnorbus, try using the words of a song that you like and translating them/getting them translated into the other language. There are a couple of ideas on this thread (check out Voyage at the top and the Grönemeyer song further down; at the end of the page there's also a Nena text which could work too). If the words are being read as a poem, the translation doesn't need to be in the same rhyme scheme/metre as the original to achieve an effect.
