Just to add: The Ismaning Burschen Verein challenged a tug-of-war to double the bet.
LGBT Ausflug to the next Fest in Ismaning, oder?

2 really good Indian Restaurants in Ismaning!

had a (very) lovely time at the LGBT drinkies (!!). Was at the Maibaum event but was otherwise (ahem) occupied for much of the rest of the weekend. biggrin.gif

Thankyou MT for making this possible! wink.gif

Is there a regular LGBT group yet? Or monthly at least... I am sad I missed out I dont know ANYONE on here...
MonksTown
It's an informal thingy Cowboy and happens now and again.

Here's a though pop pickers, what's about a Toytown meetup for city centre street drinkies on the Sunday of CSD, 13th July?
Cowboy
We are in for sure but that is FOREVER away... do a small group of you hangout somewhere maybe we can bump into you some time befor then... Tommorw we are going out not sure where but somewhere not by the evil people... ,)
MonksTown
If there is one thing I have notced over the years it is that English speaking LGBTs in Munich don't reguarly hang out together.
A lot of people tend to know each other and sometimes meet up - but very often spontaneously or by chance.
Plus, a lot of people have realy full social calendars and tend to fix fairly well in advance when they are going to what nights out, I'm pretty much already booked up now as far as the Wies'n.

I'd just go out with your other half and have and see who you meet.
Even some Germans! ohmy.gif

But if there's interest, I'd go for a meet up on CSD Sunday.

Same as at work innit? You don't dip your wick in the office ink or summat. Just gets nasty. laugh.gif

I understand that if I must ask, I'm not included. Curiosity has got the better of me.

What is LGBT? All wind ups accepted. The pressure is on.

But any meet up advertised on TT is open to anyone. smile.gif

Thanks. I'm older than dirt.

Sounds like fun.

and by the way, tho they are LGBT events there are rarely only a sprinkling of Ls, Gs, the occasional B and never ever any Ts. Most people who come are straight.

Peter and I would be keen on coming on the 13th but that is rather far off.

I'd also be interested in a more regular meetup if people want. What about Thursday evenings at Rubin's on the Müllerstrasse end of Thalkirchnerstrasse (just beside KraftAkt) Peter and I quite go there then if anyone wants to join us. There are Germans with us too so it could even be a good way to integrate.
Cowboy
My guy and I are in for Thursdays... but we are contractors so its always kind of up in the air... unless no one calls or the day has an early end in sight... which is rare... starting tonight... we will try to arrange that our Thursdays are free in the evenings... 8 (20:00) would be a good time for us I guess... sometimes we would be a little later... or a little earlier... But I love Rubin's! We went there the other night and it felt like home... and friendly staff too! smile.gif I miss having a social life... wink.gif oh and friends... My guy just told me that it’s a beer party and Rubin's Thursday's 7pm to 9 pm... I guess we will be there at 7... Beer only one euro! This could be hazardous... blink.gif

Hee hee, I know what you mean - I've only just discovered I like beer.

I'm not around on 13th July. *sulks*

if I do come to this event do I need to bring my notebook equipped with WIFI to communicate via this forum with the other people who will be there :all confused

I would love to meet up on the 13th. or any other day! Bell the cat, I might join for a drink at some point, I had great fun with you last time smile.gif
MonksTown
Rubins had cheep beer on Saturday, it was Euro till 9 then 2 Euros.
I was there just for a couple of cheeky pints as part of a mini crawl around the village ending up at the closing party of Teddy Bar in the Hans Sachs Strassse.
I'm often at Rubin's on a Thursday but NB, there's no guarantee of getting a table.

The CSD program shoul be out soon and we can arrange a meet up for the Sunday. smile.gif

I think last time the majority were L, G or B, weren't they?
Bell the cat
yes, but only when all three were grouped together and that was a first!

I'll be in london this coming thursday but can be there with my man on June 26th from 7pm onwards if anyone wants to join us. We could make it a regular thing like an Englischestammtisch and in due course Germans wanting to practice their English could even join us. What do you think?
RogerM
A regular Thursday night sounds like a great idea. This Thursday, however, there is a much better option... the gay choir has a show on at the Pasinger Fabrik - you need to understand German to get the most out of it, as the texts are quite funny - but even if you don't understand the words, the show is bizarrely interesting, and quite camp in a surreal kind of way! Don't expect "It's Raining Men" or an Abba Medley though - apparently the gay audience in Munich is far too sophisticated for that kind of thing. I'm in it, so not sure how much it costs, check it out here:

Philhomoniker @ Pasinger Fabrik

just followed my own advice and checked out the price - and outrageous 17.92 Euros for Sunday (couldn't find the Thursday price)...probably a bit cheaper on the door. Am shocked that an amateur group is charging so much, to be honest, (but then, it's Munich, and Kultur is vital to the town's sense of self importance) but if you're feeling flush and in need of some camp culture, I'd vaguely recommend it!!

You reckon?
I only saw yesterday that the friggin Plattler are AGAIN at the Glockenbackfest, they must have some dirt on Councillor Niederschwuchtel.

I'm always up for cheap beer and intelligent conversation.

So where do I go then? blink.gif

I think this event might be safer than the curry night, is it on for 18th june or not?
Bell the cat
its not really an "event" as such. Just cheap beer at Rubins. Should really be for gay people and their friends. I am away this Thursday whioch is why I suggested we start on the 26th and anyway Roger's choir event is taking place this coming Thursday.

you realise this event takes place in Rubens and not in the Taj mahal, right?
Editor Bob
If there's a new event in the making here, remember to start a new topic.

Yes I know the LBGT ain't at the Taj, and the curry night ain't at the Taj neither.
