Rock im Park music festival - Germany

Hey, I have bought my tickets (forgive me if someones already posted for 2008) but I did a search and came up with 2005 -2007. Anyway i've just bought my tickets and will be leaving Munich for the festival the day before the concert begins on the 5th of June. And was wondering who else was going?

I'm leaving Munich on the Thursday to get a decent spot and start the party early ;-)

My ticket should be coming in the next few days and I know at least 4 other TTers that are coming with me. Cant wait its been two years since my last festival and the linup for this one is great!

thats good probably not enough police in bavaria to try and handle a festival and babyshambles... i can see it now all the drug sniffer dogs just falling down and convulsing.

The drunken-partying-sixteen-year-olds-oh-there are-bands-playing-too?-factor is less at Southside and the bands there are hands down better this year (and most years).

I've just found out about the Rock im Park festival in June. After having a look at the website and can't see anything about purchasing day tickets. My German is not great and I was wondering if I just might be missing something??

Can anyone help me with the following:

1) Can you get day tickets or are they weekend only?
2) Anyone been before, is it any good?
3) Best place to buy tickets in Nürnberg?

I ve been in Nürnberg nearly 15 years and i actually worked at two "rock im parks" been to about 5 i think..

One of the best gigs i saw believe it or not was "THE FUGEES" that sounds rediculous when you have the like s of Ozzy Osbourne Aeorsmith Van halen Bob Dylan Mettalica but they was really good live... ..but from my experience it was well worth the effort and a cheap way to see so many bands concentrated into one two or three days of gluttony.

Dont drink too much and leave your partner!!! because you might end up not seeing her for another eight hours if you have to visit the toliet and she is stuck in the front of the crowd!!!

You should be able to get ticket information right here from the web.. just go to search google and put in obviously "rock im park 2008 nürnberg"... go for it !!! there is a web page called rock impark.. ive just visited it and the people on the ends of the telephone will obviously speak english.. tickets are 135 euros for the whole weekend 6-8 june.. that includes tent and parking allocation.

Its definately a one off and well worth it if your a lover of live music and beer drinking. where else in the world can you watch so many great bands for so little money!!!

My German is not very good so I'm a little worried and the web site is confusing - Could you help answer some questions for me...

How do I get from Neuremburg Hbf to the festival ground?
When does the campsite open?
Where are the best places to camp at the festival?
What are peoples experiences of the festival?

i live in Nürnberg.. When you get to the the hauptbahnhoff .. you have to get a tram to the docu centrum which is a number 9 i think... but there is no need to worry because when you get to the bahnhof the information desk is right slap bang in the middle of the trainstation and they will most definately speak english and will find someone who does ...

Regarding when can you can first come.. i just looked at the web site and they are advising people who have Paid 20 euros extra for the center stage camping area to come on thursday morning from 10.00 am due to better chance of parking availibility.. this is the best area because it has it has (more ) free access to showers and toilets and is right up close to the main stage..

so if you havent paid that extra twenty euros.. i would advise you do because its more than worth it...

I have been to 4/5 rock im parks and like i said before its a one off and should be enjoyed to the limit.. no where on earth can you watch so many quality bands live ´ for so little money.

PS dont forget to bring a good rain jacket .. just incase
PS 2 to avoid hangovers i would advise drinking 3/4 litre water before you go to bed .. and you will be right as rain next day

english man in nuremberg

So tonight I decided to troll around looking for festivals to go to. I know it's now sold out but what would be my options looking for one free single ticket? Ebay? Kijjjiiii? Looking at the billboard now I understand how the bands can play in two places at seemingly the same time.

Well after looking on ebay I guess there's lots of tickets for sale still. If anyone has friends looking to offload tickets let me know before I "get lucky" on ebay.

so rock im park is this weekend, anyone intrested in camping near us, get a kind of Toytown group going down. the group i am with of about 5-8 people would easily welcome more english people to drink and watch bands with. we are heading down thursday and should be there about mid day. if anyone fancy's it give me a PM
