I've worked with radio for years, but it's been a while and I miss it.
Anyone else have experience and maybe wanna try getting one up and running?
Let me know.

don't have so much radio experience, but i'm fairly experienced in audio editing / sound recording and a bit of composing.
(probably best to contact me via jsharp7@gmail.com).
I might be interested in something like this, having done college radio way back when in grad school.
Note that there is some sort of community radio already; it might be possible (and easier) to get some expat-centered material going on that.
I'd be pleased to lend myself to this, even if only in the form of crazy Canadian content. z.B. www.myspace.com/tupperwareblitzkrieg

Hey nice to see people found the post.
Well I checked the munich stuff out, but they where... well they had their own thing going lol.
I am def game for starting something up. It's pretty easy starting a legal internet station now a days, with royalties paid and everything.
I'm thinking it would be cool to have a "local" english station that gives us updates on whats happening both on the international scene here in Berlin and of course German events, news and other fun things.
I think we could record shows to start with, and then maybe go live when we get some feedback.
Let me know what you guys think.

Ok so I'm gonna do the unpopular thing and ask everyone interested to pm me their email adress, so we can do some direct brainstorming.
It's probably a good idea if we do a group kind of thing, and then get more people involved as we need it.
Any updates that is of interest to the rest, will of course be posted on TT.
Let me know what ya think

Hi,
I am involved in marketing english events in Berlin (z.B. English Theatre Berlin, Laugh Olympics Berlin) - maybe there is something we can do together? We are busy as we are just starting up but it would be great to have a media partnership and perhaps we can ride the same wave together, or something like that.
My email is griggsey of the yahoo variety. I am not .co or .de but the other most popular ending!

exellent idea! expat.cz just started broadcasting last week. Podcasting (online radio) can be a lot of fun and requires a lot of planning (topics, broadcasting, marketing venue, etc).
I'd be interested in learning more about an english Berlin station - how to help, etc.

Hey guys.
Good to see people are interested. I've been checking out some broadcasting options and such. Will give some more info later on, as I'm not in Berlin right now.
Have a good one people.

With so many people keen to pitch in, my advice is to start out with a very clear music policy. That way nobody gets the dirts when you tell them that minimalist trance epics aren't the go, for example.
A target demographic and loose value proposition would help as well.

I would be interested in hosting a show. Also, I wouldn't mind doing promotional and PR stuff. Will you ever hold a meeting in person?

It seems that the project may have fizzled out quietly as the previous poster indicated. Which ever is the case, it is a good idea and I would also not mind to participate in such an endeavor.
Since you are already interested, perhaps we might revive the topic & see if others are interested & then arranged a meeting of sorts..?

Doing stories and other PR type stuff is one thing.. Actually getting, setting-up, running and paying for the various
required licenses is another.. Without the actual means to "Broadcast", there is no need for reporters and the like.

Hey people.
The project is alive, but do to other projects it's taken the backburner. A lot of you have sent me pm's and so I guess it keeps the rest in the dark.
Sorry about that, but i welcome more people, or if people wanne start something alone that's cool as well.
