Hi there TT
Could anyone tell me a little more about Marzling? I know it's a little town outside Freising but that's it.
We're due to move this summer. Freising was our first choice but there's not alot of houses to rent (not that I've found)
We've got three little ones and don't speak German yet so we'd probably need an international comunity.
Any insight greatly appreciated.

There was an English family down there and a Canadian onebut i beleive they have moved since. There is however a really massive beer garden down there. You will however need transport here as its a way away from everything

It IS a little town outside Freising and that IS it! It's only small; a baker's, small supermarket, pub/restaurant. A train every hour or two. But a friend of mine goes to some English-speaking baby group there, so there must be a few English speakers around. And Freising is just down the road.
But if you want to live in a larger town then you'll find somewhere in Freising sooner or later.

I know of 3 English speaking Famillies there..
There are about 27 residents 407 cattle, 20 sheep..
And a postman who always knocks twice!

I lived there 30+ years ago. Have never felt the urge to return, but couldnt help driving through once in a while. I dont remember it having any real center. I guess it started as less than a real village and developed into a kind of cheap suburban area for Freising in the seventies and eighties. The best you can say about it: its close to Freising. Make sure you dont live next to the big road (B11) or the railroad tracks. Satelite pictures from Google Earth might give a good impression.

Thanks everyone.
I'll keep looking in both areas.
Our relocation advisor said the only source of info on rentals is in the local paper (published Wednesday and Sat) which she checks on our behalf and www.scoutimmoblier24.de.
Is this correct?
We're in freising next week to check out houses is it worth going around to the estate agents to see if they have any other places?
Thanks again TT

Unlike in the UK, one doesn't really visit an agent to see what they have. There are too many agents and most of them only have a handful of properties on their books at any one time. Between the local papers and Immoscout24, you've got 90% of your bases covered.

You might also want to reconsider, if you shouldnt be looking for an appartement, instead of a whole house...
