Hi ,
I would be getting work permit from a German company. After that I am planning to take my wife in germany in a dependent Visa.

Now , can she work in Dependent Visa? If not, then there is a way she can get work permit while she is in Germany ( be getting residence permit or anything ).

Please help me to clarify this in detail.

Thank you for your time and help

There are chances for ur wife to work here but it will be a bit complicated process. Dependents from India are not permitted to work but thru proper channel, a permission can be obtained. I am also from India. I came as a dependent with my husband. I am working now.
Your wife could look up for some Job when she is in germany. When she has one, she will be verified whether she has a permission to work in Germany. If the company does not insist on a work permit when ur wife is applying for a job or attending an interview, she is lucky. Let us say she has found a job now. She will not get a permit unless she has a job and viceversa. To get the work permit, she will require a certificate from her Employer in Germany, indicating her duration of work and how much salary she will be paid with. The certificate is called 'Bescheinigung' in German. You could take the letter to the Forigner's office in the city u will be arriving in Germany and then request for a work permission and also you need to fill out a form which is in German. There will be some English speaking Germans, so do not panic abt filling the form. Usually, dependent visa from India says that the dependent cannot get a gainful employment, but she can work thru the permision of the Foreigners office and that is what i have explained now. The old visa of ur wife will be cancelled and new visa indicating that she can work in such a company for so many hours per week will be indicated. Your wife can take her passport with new visa to the employer and get work contract signed. This is how I got it. But still she will be in the dependent category only which emphasizes that ur wife can stay in Germany only as long as u stay. This dependent status cannot be changed in Germany. It did not work out for me. I got an independent visa only when i came to india this time. Pls do not hesitate to contact for more details...

Hi rpriyamtech,
I would like to know how difficult it is to find a job without work permit. Will companies call for interview if we dont have a work permit. I am here on a dependent visa and have 3 years of experience in IT back in india. I would like to continue working here. So wanted to know what are my chances.
