Lidl spying on employees, customers also at risk? - Germany

Security cameras may spot your credit card PIN
Olive Drab
I haven't been near Lidl since I heard that they have been using private detectives to spy on their own employees:

Now consumer groups are advising people not to use credit cards at Lidl as
security cameras may be able to record you while you enter your pin number.

Lidl's "overzealous und authorised" spying on employees does not mean they are going to spy on thei customers to try and steal your bank details for fraud.
Though you should be careful when entering your PIN anywhere.
What ALL the stores are interested in are of course your shopping habits.

Presumably wouldn't the machines that you type your pin number into also be able to record your pin number?
Olive Drab
Highly unlikely -manipulation of these machines would be a serious matter.
Lidl have made a statement that the cameras have been taken down and it is "safe" to pay with a credit card in their supermarkets.
