After a couple of sleepless nights I finally finished reading the 77 page programme of "Nacht der Museen". And here's what I suggest:
For those who would like to see the exhibition "Impressionistinnen", i.e. paintings of women impressionists:
1st meeting point at 18.45-19.00 at the entrance to Schrirn Kunsthalle Frankfurt museum (Römerberg:

2nd meeting point at 20.15-20.25 at the entrance to Starbucks near Römer (Braubachstrasse 36:
http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?sourceid=nav...bachstrasse+36)There are 49 museums/galleries/places open this night. Unfortunately this year Palmengarten isn't one of them.

However, there are many other interesting and fun places to go to.
Here's
my selection of places to see and things to do presented in the order of how this can be done:
1) Sternwarte Frankfurt (Robert-Mayer-Strasse 2-4): a great opportunity to take a closer look at the stars and listen to Blues
2) Senckenberg Naturmuseum (Senckenberganlage 25): a chance to see dinosaurs, reptiles and other creatures; plus get something to eat: "Frankfurter, mediterrane, asiatische Spezialitäten" are offered
(1) and (2) are located relatively close to each other.3) a ride on an old tram ("Nostaldiefahrt") from Römer to the zoo, etc
4) Zoologischer Garten Frankfurt: enjoy the life orchestra music, get something to eat & drink and listen to stories ("Lagerfeuer mit Stockbrot und Geschichten")
5) a ride on an old train ("Historische Eisenbahn") running from Römer to Westhafen Tower
6) And the museums on the Museumsufer:
- Portikus (rarely open to public),
- Deutsches Architekturmuseum (animated movies, food & drinks in a police custody bar is open from 7pm to 1am)
- Deutsches Filmmuseum (Japanese animation, Japanese Music, free photo shooting with Heidi)
- other...
7) A trip on a shuttle-boat from Eisener Steg to Städel museum and back
There are several options of how to get from one place to another:

- Walk
- And as mentioned above, there are historic tram & train and a shuttle boat available
