Hello,
I'm new on this forum and I've spent some time reading many topics about salary and how is life in Frankfurt before writing tou you. I'm actually leaving in paris (France) and I have a job opportunity in frankfurt as Senior Investment Analyst Research in the asset management field. My problem is that I dont really know how much to ask as salary for this job. I am 28/29 years old and I have allready 3 years of experience in the same area but as junior analyste. If I go for 60K-70K per year would this be ok or is too much for my age/experince?
Thank you in advance for any advice and I can provide more detail if needed to evaluate this job.

I think that range cited is appropriate for your experience level and the position, but hopefully, Eugene ac, Dan Hessen, LifeisaBuffett, or someone else knowledgeable about Frankfurt and the industry will weigh in on that.
Good luck..

Thank You Conquistador for your quick answer.
I have fogotten to tell you that the job offer is within the same company where I spent my last 3 years. The job is more like a transfer to Frankfurt but in a new department of the company. The job will be as senior and we are supposed to develop the bussiness in Germany.
lots of thanks again

Staying with the same company often puts a damper on the amount of any salary increase, but on the other hand you probably already had a good idea of what a Senior Analyst makes in your company. Sounds like you have a great opportunity awaiting you.

Hi,
I would like to have the opinion of other people concerning the salary of a Senior Investment Analyst in Frankfurt. An investment analyst is the equivalent of a Financial Analyst but in the Fund of Fund Management. Insted of analysing companies (Finacial Analyst), an Investment Analyst deals with Mutual funds by creating a peer group of mutual funds, screening them quantitatively and analysing the investment process and the talent of the portfolio manager. He's objective is to identify the best mutual funds in order to invest in.
Can someone help me with the possible level of salary for this kind of job? I was thinking at 60-70K per year as fixe salary but I want to check with you, because I dont know the price value for this job in Frankfurt.
thank you for your feed-back.

I am a recruiter in the Frankfurt area and deal with various salaries all day. I am in another department so I don't have as much experience with this field but I can let you know that is a very healthy salary range for what your position and experience is. If you want more info feel free to ask.

Thank you for answer.
Ok, so asking for 60-70k per year is too much money for my age/experience.. I've put below the offer I have . As I said, this is more a transfer from the actual position I have in France as Junior to a Senior position. The weak point is that they know my actual salary in France . Considering this what would be then the right salary range for this job?
thank you in advance!

Well, are you 28 or 29?
Seriously though, I spoke with our head of research (Sell side brokerage). He said 60-70 is about in line given your age and experience. Of course that depends on the total compensation package (bonus?) and also whether or not you are a freaking brilliant rocket-scientist shooting super star or if you have just an average brain like the rest of us. Frankly though, you always make big gains in compensation when you change firms. That's something you'lll want to time very well.
