Is there a specific reason you're looking at Ludwigsburg? If you're at Kelley, commuting and don't want to live directly in Stuttgart, somewhere like Filderstadt is a better bet. Driving during the middle of the day (no traffic) from Kelley to Ludwigsburg can take over an hour, and that's not during rush hour. The commute isn't worth it. And if you're looking at taking public transit, you'll be commuting almost 2 hours one way.

What do you have against Ludwigsburg!

Nothing at all! In fact, I think it's really pretty and quiet there. I just wouldn't want that commute if I was working at Kelley, that's all.
