Full Version: Missing Image to shut

Missing Image, that last bastion of interesting films for rent in Munich has finally succumb to the onslaught of the DVD Automaten hoards and will shut it's doors for the last time in mid April. There is a short explanation on their homepage outlining the reasons for closure and their desire to set up some sort of network of people and places in the city to continue the idea behind Missing Image. Any regulars should be in shock as Missing Image was really something special, you could spend hours just flicking through the selection. Until mid-April they open from 14:00 - 20:00 and then it's all over.

It was very depressing walking by Missing Image and seeing that it had closed. Many thanks to the owners of Missing Image who had such a great collection of films. I definitely was able to rent movies, I never dreamed would be available at a video store. Its closure is truly a loss for Munich and film buffs.

For me it is a big lose that I still did not overcome. I was totaly depressed when I heard the news. It was even worth when I gave back my last DVD and they were sorting the DvDs... It was a weird feeling.

I loved that place. I loved the people who worked there.

In there last email they were saying that there might be something after. Let see.

It was the best : good locations, good prices, large (and excellent) stock, friendly advises.

Dam' I have the blues again.
