Safety for women around the Backstage club area

I'm visiting Munich soon & will be staying at a hotel on Nymphenburger Str. approximately 2 km northeastish of the Backstage club which is at Friedenheimer Brücke 7.

Theoretically I'll be walking back to the hotel from the club in the wee hours of the morning & was wondering if it would be monumentally stupid for a woman to walk it alone at that hour or if I should just take a cab.

If you're a bit skint, you could get the N41 night bus to Rotkreuzplatz (crossed by Nymphenburgerstr.) if you're there at the weekend. Local transport link.
While you probably would be ok, the Backstage is in an industrial area which isn't well lit and as a visitor to Munich, you probably won't know your route as well as someone who has walked the route often.
But taking a cab wouldn't be terribly expensive either.

I've walked to the tram/ bus stop from there before and was fine, if you leave when a lot of other people start to go you should be fine. It feels a bit dodgier than the middle of town though, so I would take the bus or a cab rather than get lost in an area without much help about.

I've walked around there and been fine, but obviously that doesn't mean anything for you. It depends how you hold yourself, if you're confident alone on the streets (you don't sound it) or if there's a psycho on the loose who will disregard all these things. It's not a pretty area of town so the bus would be an easy option, but I doubt it's goes so regularly. I'd rather walk than wait around a bus stop for 20 mins.

Chances are though you'd be around quite a few people waiting for the N41 and I'd personally prefer to do that than wander off around there if I didn't 100% know the way as it is very quiet round there late at night.
