In February, the company I worked for (Inova Computers GmbH) went insolvent forcing me out of a job as Marketing Manager for embedded computer components. Now a decision has to be made whether to work full-time for a similar organisation, or choose a freelance path. Both options are open - but the current full time offering will require a lot of time on the road which effectively takes me away from my family. The pay however, is very appealing. I also have a nearly-secured freelance contract with an Italian corporation offering half the customary salary, but also for just 15 hours per week.

There is nothing to keep us in Kaufbeuren, and we would like to live near Überlingen since there is a very good Waldorf school there (as any of you with children will know, the German schooling system leaves a lot of room for improvement, and the Waldorf school seems to have a similar style of education to the way I remember schooling - fun in learning!)

Do any of you know of a good source for freelancers to tap into, how to become a registered freelancer or even have room for my services (www.lim-e.com)? Also, you may also know of someone wishing to uproot from Überlingen, Sipplingen or its surroundings and can pass on details of a house or two that is on the market. We prefer to deal privately and avoid the 3.75% fee for an agent. The sort of house we would be looking for should have >6 rooms, >200m2 living space, sizable garden, preferably off the main road (because of the children) and carry a price tag up to €250,000.-
