Hi,
at the moment we are living in the UK. That is myself, a NZer, my husband aNZ born German and our five children. Our plan is to move over the summer so we are settled for the new school year. We are looking at Regensburg or around there. We are also planning to put the kids in German schools.
Any ideas of where would be a good place to live around there?
What is the thing with schools and Kindergatens? We really want the kids to learn German so they can talk to their grandfather in his language, as well as the cousins.
My husband is a Pysiotherapist. We have no idea what the going income for a Physio is in Germany, was wondering if anyone out there has an idea ?
Looking forward to some replys

When I was talking to my Physio here, he was saying that he couldn't get a job as a Physio in Australia (where I'm from). In Australia, being a Physio is like being a doctor or at least requires as much study. He told me over here it is a 3 year degree (must be the only thing in this country that takes less time at Uni than in Australia!).
Anyway, I don't want to put a dampner on your idea, but I don't believe they get paid that well - certainly not as well as in the UK. I know for a fact that the average hospital doctors wage is 36,000 euros a year before tax. When I read this (in Stern magazine, when they were comparing wages) I simply couldn't believe it.

thanks,
NZ and Auzzie physios are pretty much the same level of training. He will look at the private sector rather than the hospital, been there done that. May have to find something else to do to make ends meet.

The education takes 3 years, but not at uni. It is more like an apprenticeship here. I know 2 or 3 people who have done it and all of them have visited private schools for physios, which were quite expensive.
And, according to this
survey the wage is cra* unfortunately.

Well we have talked and talked and talked it through and decided to get a few more pounds in our pocket before heading north to you lot. Well I think it is north, but more importantly the answers have been helpful. Will be in touch
