Hi everyone. My name is Russel Langley and I was stationed in Germany for three years with the US Air Force. I am now out of the air force and my wife and I would like to move to Germany with our two young children. We have several reasons for this but we basically love the country and the lifestyle. We also wish to raise our children in that environment. I have a degree in English and my wife is a registered nurse. Neither of us wish to work for the US government. Does anyone have any recommendations on ways to move there successfully? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I would suggest not doing this because the likelihood of you both getting decent jobs is low, and it is pretty hard for most people to support three dependents on one salary here. You may have qualifications other than your degree related to your service or other work experience (should mention this so others can advise) but there aren't usually many good opportunities for non-EUers with humanities degrees. No idea if your wife's qualifications will be recognized here, either.
You also didn't say anything about you and your wife's level of German language ability, or is she German?
If you are retired Air Force and getting a pension from the US government, that would give you somewhat of a cushion, but I still think the chances are pretty poor here for you (without knowing more about your qualifications).
