You have to buy it from t-mobile.de (the apple site links to it) and sign a contract, which after 2 years brings the price to more than 430 euros...

But yeah, the refurbished ones are a good deal...

But what can you do with an Iphone and no T-com contract, in Germany? not much I guess.

Or does T-com let you get the device independently and then substract from the 50+Eur per month the part of the Ipod cost beyond the 400Eur they ask?

Even if it's not unlocked, it's very very easy to unlock it yourself.

Just ensure that you do not sign up to any contract when iTunes fires up

As you are aware, the phone is brand new and locked but can easily be unlocked using TurboSIM, StealthSIM or similar products.

I wouldn't use the *Sim method. Just download iPlus or iLiberty and use them instead. Software cracks ftw!

The phone is now unlocked (firmware 1.1.4) using Ziphone and the price is dropped to 410 Euros. (Goes on Ebay in a few days).

You'll get that much for sure on eBay..
