English-language book club in Düsseldorf - Germany

This months book: The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini.

Meet and discussion: K21 Bar on Thursday, 24th April at 7:45 pm. All english speakers welcome even if you haven't read the book entirely by then, no guilt!

This is our first attempt at the book club for Düsseldorf. This month and next I have chosen the book based on what is highly recommended reading at the moment, but I'm hoping that we can change the venue and have other members choose the next months books.

It's a bit of a chat about what you think of the book but mostly its an opportunity to meet new friends and visit some of the lovely venues in Düsseldorf. So please come along and help me start something new for us expats living and working here in Düsseldorf.

Cool and nice idea fredweena...wont be able to make it as too far away for a school night, but have read the book - well worth the read - and looking forward to what your next suggestions will be!

Haven't read the book, but have been recommended it too many times to count! I'm an avid reader, but will probably be the youngest member of the book meet. I'll come along on Thursday, if you'll have me.

Unfortunately I am not in Düsseldorf tomorrow but would be interested in book club for next month. So it would be great if you can post what book is chosen for next month and then the time and when the time and place is decided then hopefully I would be able to make it.

Hi Miranda, no age barrier! There will be a mix of people there so come along - no worries about the book most people that I know coming haven't read it either! Although, it is an excellent read, I doubt it will be long before it is a film.
