Anyone up for a night out in Bonn or Cologne? - Germany

this is only my second week and wanted to explore bonn and cologne nigth life. Friday this week is perfect for me. I can't believe it is snowing here in germany, back home never have a temperature lower than 27 degrees celcius :-) anway if any group or anyone would like to be a tour guide to this Island boy please let me know :-)

im an aussie here doing work experience aswell. murdering myself spend most of my time drinking on the weekends always in at one of the many irish pubs and normally end up dancing the night away along fresin str or heading to roseclub area etc. when you guys going to be hitting the night life?

I'm a Brit living in Gelsenkirchen, near Essen, been here a month now and am definitely up for meeting up and having some beers. Just name the time and the place!

ah... i'm yet another person new to bonn. i got here 2 weeks ago, i'll be here 3 months for an engineering internship (i'm 22 by the way). i'm pretty sure i'm tiring out my (german) roommates and their friends with my complete lack of german language ability, so i should probably branch out a bit.

I might have to disagree with that!! There wasn't alot of partyin' going on in the bar I went to in Cologne the other weekend so I'm not convinced...

I am Scottish and living in Bonn as well. I would be well up for a few beers if we can organise a night out.

Wonderful then lets meet up tomorrow for a drink in Bonn! Say at 6:30pm or is that too early/late? I don't know where though. Any suggestions? I hear the Fiddler Irish pub is okay.

Yeah Fiddlers is quite nice but it's a bit of a trek to get there (unless you live over that way of course).

Anyone want to meet at Tacos at 8pm (mexican food and jumbo happy hour cocktails)? It's a bit more central for people to get to (Bonngasse 7 - just off Markt platz)? I might even book a table this week since last week there were way too many of us squeezing round that small table at the bar...haha.

Maybe also head over to Carpe Noctem later on for a bit of Indie Rock/studenty type clubbing?

I'll try and round up a few more people who might be interested.

Should also be a good weekend for watching the football on Saturday/Sunday in various bars with the Euro 08 on...

your not convinced you must have been in the wrong area. around friesen str it is crazy on any night of the week and heumarket with 3 irish pubs right near each other haha

well its most weekends im out haha the next massive night will be the 26th july we are playing football against hamburg and than both teams head out partying after the game last wekend there was a group of 50 english speakers from all over germany on the dance floor dont think people liked that 2 much haha lol. i might head to bonn tomorrow night but maybe not i have to be up early on saturday to head to frankfurt.

OK so far I've rounded up 6 people plus ScottishBird plus 1 more, makes 8 people so far (and one or two might meet us later on).

It's pretty difficult getting a table in Tacos so I think I'll book a table tonight.

Reading the other posts in the thread, I presume we'll have another couple joining us so I reckon I'll book the table for 10.

If you're planning on coming along then please let us know so that we can make sure there is room for you, although I'm sure we could fit in one or two extra if you're late reading this thread.

I miss Mexican food in a big way... so much, in fact, that for dinner tonight I tried to make tacos... but then realized that I didn't have lettuce, cheese, tortillas, or the motivation to go to a store. I ended up eating toast with ground beef and salsa. What I'm trying to say is that I'll be there tomorrow.

Glad to see there is some planning going on in Bonn! I've got plans for earlier in the night but will try to come to Tacos afterwards (probably with 1 or 2 others) to meet some of you other English speakers. I've been here for a few months now and have found it difficult finding/meeting other English speakers!

OK I booked the table for 10 people at 8pm in Tacos (Bonngasse 7).

It's booked under the name "Toytown" or just look for a large table and ask around.

Judging by PMs I've got and other replies I might ask them to add a few more to the reservation, otherwise we'll just steal some chairs from somewhere else and squeeze people on.

Just letting you know I've extended the reservation to 14 people since 10 wasn't really enough.

If we have more than 14 then it will be a bit easier squeezing people in now, like last minute stragglers etc.

myself and my german fiancee would be interested in meeting up for a euro game this weekend, although it does seem that koln is easier for us than bonn, but if its just off the rail line, I am sure we can find a place.

I'd be up for it! Any thoughts on where to go? I've been to Shakers and Spritz so far to watch some games, but am open to any other suggestions!

Well, I'm off to the movies this eve but if you do go out somewhere for a drink near Bonn, let me know and we might make it afterwards. There's apparently a turkish film festival on in Bonn and the movies are being played on walls in town tonight and tomorrow (says my flatmate) you might like to go along and watch!

Also from Bonn here ! Been here for 4+ years, friends all moved away hence keen on meeting up with people to have a drink/spliff/eat whatever your fancy !
