Social contacts sought in Düsseldorf

Hello there,
first of all I would like to ask you if it is ok with you that I am german and that my english is far from the standard of a native speaker. I am a 35 year old woman/girl, I live in düsseldorf and for some strange reason I feel a lot more affinity to english speaking people than for the germans. It is not that I don't like the germans, it is just that whenever I am in England or with native english speakers I feel so much more alive, I like the people, the language and the lifestyle. I was wondering if there is a possibility to join some social activities in or around düsseldorf?. I have not submitted my profile or a photo yet but I will do soon.

Sure you can join some events organized in Düsseldorf.
usually we are 5 to 6 who meet up for drinks and chat in english.

Saturday meetups at O'Reillys (in the Altstadt) are becoming regular, I think. People usually get there at around 6 or 7pm.

It's a good way to meet people, have a few pints, enjoy some music and so on.

Checking the "Events and Meetups" forum from time to time is also a good idea.

one day sooner or later I'll catch up with you guys and finally meet up in Düsseldorf as it is not so far away from Bottrop. Just always miss the next meet up or not possible during the week

to go out for brunch sometime is also a good idea, there are a few nice places for that in düsseldorf. Eigelstein for example.
As regards tomorrow: ok great, let's do that. Me and my Guinness will be at the bar. Or you might see me with a Newcastle brown ale which is my favourite beer. straight from the bottle I won't recognise anybody because nobody has posted a photo

So aparently there is a big gathering tomorrow (fri) in Köln with several Düsseldorfers, as Axba just told me.

How about going there? I reckon it's not far by train, is it? We could probably meet up at the DUS Hauptbanhof and take it from there.

And we could check out the Köln Dom, which is right beside the Köln Hauptbanhof.

From Köln Hbf we can walk (about 1.3km) to the bar or take a short ride to Friesenplatz by train also.

hello, just got home. Iyervinayc, I think it would be great fun to go to cologne, I hope you are online. Could not send you a pm. We could meet around 7:30 at Hauptbahnhof and jump on the next train. before that we can check when the next train back is or I'll quickly check online. what do you think?

I just spoke to Ganon. it seems better to goto altstadt and have fun there tonight.
If we goto Koln then not sure about returning...so it is better to meet at altstadt.
Can we meet outside Tchibo outside Henrich heine alle U bahn at 8:30?

getting home would not be a problem, regular trains running every half an hour or so, just had a look at the bahn-website. let me know if you change your mind, otherwise i will be in the altstadt later
