I first saw KING LOUIE in New Orleans 1995 with the plaid blazer clad ROYAL PENDELTONS, with a 60's grown out bowl haircut and a furious voice doing backup vocals from his drum kit he drove the PENDELTONS, styled to imitate 60's garage frat rock much like early Nuggets bands, sans any hippie-ness. He added punk to this band, while Matt the Guitar player did back flips off stage. KING LOUIE has written some of today's greatest punk garage hits in the PERSUADERS, KAJUN SS, his One Man Band, and loads of unreleased projects like Loose DIAMONDS and KONDORD. He's back in BLACK ROSE BAND with duel guitar leads and killer songs and his most cohesive and productive line up ever. The sound brings to mind Slade, Iron Maiden, Cheap Trick, with the Creole New Orleans influence. Live it rips the corpse of Rock n Roll out of it's grave and forces it to be a dancing clapping fist pumping zombie again.

THE HIPSHAKES (UK)
Blistering UK teenpunk angst, straight from the garage -- blares so loud that we applied a warning label for your speakers. Fans of GG ALLIN, GUITAR WOLF, OBLIVIANS, REATARDS, KBD, take note! Just when you thought that all the kids had traded in their rock'n'roll edge for a straight edge / rollin' on the floor / screamotional / "oh wait myspace is making my cell phone beep" / "brb :) goin’ into the bathroom to fix my hair"... three young lads humbly step forward to save the day.

After their debut release on Slovenly (1st 45 series), the 'Shakes went on to release two more very fine singles; one on Eric Oblivian's fine GONER RECORDS label, and the other on the Dutchie FISTFUL OF RECORDS.
