I'm terribly cheap-- as an American, the prices here still simply shock me at times-- but not so much when it comes to my hair. It's fairly long now and I need a haircut, but I am scared to go to someone new. Can anyone recommend a really good salon? Remember the 'I'm terribly cheap' comment... less than €75 is better if possible.

Thanks,
Rebecca

Hey Rebecca,

I can highly recommend "George" at Vidal Sassoon - Frankfurt ... he's great, a little too precise (of course, a very good thing), so book a good 2 hours off.

I'll PM you with his details!
Jessica
I'll be moving to the Frankfurt area soon, and was just wondering if George is still a good recommendation?

Best,

I don't know but as I mentioned in the Mens haircuts thread, I went to Stefan who is a trainee at VS in FFM. 35€ gets you a meticulous haircut and I was very happy with the results.

At VS the cost for a normal haircut it is 77€, so ask for a trainee!

Thanks! It looks like Sassoon is the place to go in Frankfurt, .

Hi, could someone perhaps give me some leads as to where you can get a good haircut ( does not have to be an English speaking hairdresser), the only thing I have seen on TT regarding haircuts in FFM was for some guy at Toni & Guy... is he still "the shit" when it comes to haircutting?

Got a haircut today in Westend, I will have to use my flattening iron a lot but I have had worse...

I cannot recommend any of them. After having many a bad haircut in Frankfurt I have decided to keep my hair straight and long with just a few layers so that they cannot really do much wrong with it

Sorry not what you want to hear I know

@ Purple Muffin, thanks for telling the me the terrible truth , it is better to know what to expect then to have false hopes

I got a place in Sachsenhausen called Eva Mandela on the colesium near the river and they are great with my hair I usually get a wash cut (layered) and straigten and it costs €38 I have never had a bad experience from them yet and they are friendly. There is only 1 person that speaks English but it hasn't affected me.

@Smiffy, thanks for the tip, I will remember it until then next I need to cut my hair

I recently got a haircut at a salon called Wachs & Wachs & Zians in Westend and I really like it. They aren't cheap, but I believe they are the only Aveda salon in Frankfurt and I love Aveda products. It cost me 56 euros for a haircut and I am more than satisfied (plus, the people there are amazingly nice and the atmosphere is great). If you want a haircut from one of the owners, it will cost you about 80 euros and usually it takes a month to get an appointment- but they've all won awards, etc... so they must be good.

Good luck!

Aveda + westend? sounds perfect!

I decided that my present cut is terrible ( I am in the process of looking for work and I feel that my hairstyle at the moment is not very "professional" and the flattening iron excerise does not help either, looks a bit too " party", I really hope that I will be satisfied after my visit to w&w & z this Saturday morning. Otherwise I have no hair left and I guess that is one way to solve my current styling issues...
Hanna
Good luck tomorrow! I also went to w&w&z to fix a bad haircut. I was very specific about what I didn't like and what I wanted- and I'm totally satisfied now. Please let me know how it turns out!

Take care

a good and cheap alternative is Wella , in Darmstadt. It is free of charge. The problem is that you can't easily get an appointment. They organise seminars and thye need models sometimes. All my family goes there... but not me , my hair is too short in their opinion and they do not need me !
