Can anyone recommend a Prenzlauerberg gym? What I'd ideally like is a gym where I don't get locked into a two year contract, where I could reasonably drop it if I moved somewhere else, even if that means paying more per month. I think there's one at whatever that Shonhauser Alee shopping center is called. Has anyone used that one? Is it any good?

Thanks!

Since you asked about the gym in Schoenhauser Allee Arcaden, you might be nowhere near my gym -- but I use the McFit at Prenzlauer Allee and Saarbrucker Str. It opened last June, so all the equipment's new, and it's open 24 hours just in case you want to exercise at 3am. It's generally a fun, cheery place to work out -- it's not nearly as intense as the Swiss Fitness I looked at, which quite honestly scared me. And it's dirt cheap: something like 17 Euros per month, with a 20 or 25 Euro induction fee. You're locked in for one year, but they assured me that all I needed to get out of the contract was an Abmeldung.
