anyone know what kind of financial aid is available at the European Business College?
Owain Glyndwr
I should imagine none, since the European University is a private institution, afaik. Any chance your employer will sponsor you?
electrobuzz
their brochure says that they dont give any kind of scholarship.
plastic
Financial aid for taught post-graduate work is generally hard to come by. The cash is in research apparently.

Does anybody recognize those accrediting bodies?? Just wondered what my €18,000 would be really worth.
chucktduck
That was the big question for me. It turns out their program isn't accredited. They don't offer financial aid so I would have ended up paying out of my own pocket. I didn't plan on staying in Germany and I didn't want to spend all that time and money getting a degree that is not recognized in the U.S.

I've taught classes here... if anyone is considering attending either the MBA or undergrad programs feel free to send me a PM for more info.
Shaggy
I'm studying an MBA at EU .. can also provide some input by PM if you are having thoughts.

I'd never heard of the "European University" before, but I checked it out because I wanted to see who was vain enough to call themselves that. The best match that Google found turns out to be the Italians rolleyes.gif

Bearing in mind this is a website for MunichGermany, I'm not sure you'll get too many responses.

And anyway, they're the "European University Institute", so they're an institute, not a university. Liars.

look at the accreditations page on their website

So is it good or bad that the Portuguese Ministry of Education recognizes them...? rolleyes.gif

I want to study but they are not recognized by anyone worth a damn and they want to charge me a fortune...

Sounds like a great place to be taught a lesson. Good luck with that.

They got nice new premises though...and i think major accreditation is in the works...just to balance the thread wink.gif

If anyone is interested in a fully accredited English MBA program (Henley) that runs in Munich then here is a link:

http://www.gfw-munich.de/de/henleymba/contact.htm

Henley is one of the few institutions in the world to have received triple accreditation from the major awarding bodies in the UK (AMBA), the US (AACSB) and Europe (EQUIS)

Friends of mine have completed this MBA and were very satisfied.

Is there anyone doing Henley distance MBA?

Is it worth to do an MBA with 8 yrs of IT experience?

I was very satisfied with the level of instruction and quality of classes offered by EBCM. All the instructors come from the "real world" and are not ivory tower academics in the least. One of the strongest aspects of the program (apart from the experience instructors), is the international diversity of the students. We had students from the US, Canada, Germany, Bulgaria, Argentenia, Nigeria, Russia, et al. Needless to say, the business ethics discussions were... interesting.

There is quite a strong and active alumni community as well.

Going here certainly got me a good job (Siemens- I've since moved on), and the investment has definitely been worthwhile.

I just found this thread and felt compelled to defend.
