The mother of my boyfriend is trying to find out some information about a doll that came into her posession. She researches their family tree for a hobby, and was recently given a doll that belonged to her great-grandfather. As he was German, she figures the doll is too. Possibly meant for his daughter, possibly his, she doesn't know. She has a couple of pictures of it with her and basically wants to date it as near as possible. Does anyone know of any good resources to find out more about it? If they are in Munich, so much the better.

PM me the information. My father's wife collects antique dolls - German ones in particular. I can send her the information and see what she has to say.

Perhaps you could also write to the Antique Roadshow people. Just an idea.
I love that show by the way

Yeah, the Antiques Road Show is ace. But I don't think the BBC does the show in Munich very often.

Antiques Roadshow rules! BTW, anybody know the best area in Munich to go "antiquing?"
"
Kunst und Krempel" is the BR3 version of Antiques Road Show. Saturdays at 19:45. The doll's not here though is it? Isn't it in Australia? So she'd need the Australian version of the show...?

No, the doll isn't here, just some pictures. Here's a picture of it:

Isn't it sweet?
looks like machine stitching and early 20th century to me. I say 1920. (alle Angaben ohne Gewähr)

Go to Prinzregentenplatz U-Bahn and head down the Grillpartzerstrasse towards Einsteinstrasse. There is an antique doll shop around 100 yards away on the right hand side.
And before the question is asked, I know this because it is near the launderette I use! ;-)
