I have a 6 year old Philips Rear Projection tv. Suddenly there is no picture on the main screen, but the Picture-In-Picture still works. The sound works fine and I can also use the menu. Any idea what I can try to get the main picture back?

If I can't fix it myself, any recommendations for a repair service in the Taunus area or something between Frankfurt and Wiesbaden? It is a huge tv so somebody would have to come to our house. We'd also need the repair person to speak English. Thanks!

What is the picture source for the main picture? Built-in tuner, external satellite/cable box, DVD?

Probably a bad connection. Try messing with all the cables from source to TV. Scart cables are notorious for this.
Do you have kids in the house? It could even be that a button got pushed that you need to un-push. wink.gif

I had the exact same thing yesterday (Alice TV). I took the power lead out of the back of the Alice box waited 20 seconds and put it back. It worked fine afterwards.

The source for the main picture is no doubt screwed. If you're just using a normal tuner inside the TV, then it might be broken. Otherwise try resetting what feeds the signal into this channel.

Thanks so much for all the replies. Although it's still not working. sad.gif

I'd go for a buggered scart lead or cable too.
