Hi,

My son is interested to join a soccer club for playing football.
As he is beginner he would love to learn from the club as a learner.
Can anyone please let us know any soccer club details for children in munich.
As we are living in dachauer strasse,it would be better any soccer club close by.

thanks Rhein

He might be a tad young, I think they start at 7 years but you can always ask. A good place to ask are other parents at kindergarten / school if their kid plays etc

Your nearest clubs clubs that I can think of are i.e my son's team have played against them over the years are

FT Gern (Philipp Lahm's old club. I think his mum is the youth officer). They are between the Taxis Biergarten and Landshuter Allee
There is a club opposite the (winter) entrance to the DanteBad but I cannot remember their name
Concordia : who are here

Hi,

If your son is interested in learning a new sport then kids hurling might be of interest to you both.

More information can be found here.

5 is the right age to start (I think that's G-Jugend) and now is a good time to start as they are just emerging from the indoor season to play outside again.

By the time they get to 7 the Germans have sorted out who they want to keep in their squads and mostly told the other boys they have no chance (in a way only Germans can but the equivalent of "F&%$ off you're useless!"). It's awful but that's the way a lot of clubs are run. 1860 Munich scouted and took a boy from my sons team when the boy was 6... Unterhaching takes boys all the time and Bayern take the cream of the crop. Most get chucked out again a few years later.

There are clubs all over Munich and the sourrounding area. If your son is in a local school then ask the other parents where their boys play football and go there as he'll at least know some faces.
