Maximillianstraße favourite lost its popularity
A few months ago, my husband and I passed by Cafe Roma and noticed it was closed. There was a sign up in German - which we could not read - but basically said there would be a new restaurant opening soon there. My husband enjoyed eating there and having drinks outside. Does anyone know what happened to it? I thought it was a popular place - place to see and be seen.

It was in a slow decline since O'Reilly's closed December 2001, and Lewy couldn't re-kindle the erstwhile sparkle. Other places became "in" and he couldn't keep up.
P.S. If you want a really good cocktail, go the The Potting Shed at Occamstrasse 11 (entrance is in Haimhauser Strasse!!!) in Schwabing, just off Münchner Freiheit.
