Dear All

Long shot - but were any other FFM Area-based TT-ers at the concert at the Alte Oper on Friday night (14th March) - Penderecki conducting Moniuszko, Penderecki and Dvorak?

If there were, I'd love to hear from you and share your thoughts about the performances; for the record, I thought it was bloody incredible!

Hi!
I was there-- I played! Glad you liked it. I'm a violinist in the orchestra. Didn't know we had English speaking audience members... Love to hear what you liked (and what you didn't). I'm a big fan of the viola concerto (also in the version for cello) and played it with Pergamenchikov years ago, but found our solo cellist's performance just as good if not better. I admit that I'm predjudiced, though...

Hi @cspunto

Thanks for reply - good to hear from you. Yup - Laszlo Fenyo's performance was astounding - and he surely looks the part too - wildly flowing hair and all that! Being a (half) Pole, seeing Penderecki in the flesh was, of course, a high point for me. By coincidence, I was on my way to pick up the missus from FRA on the Sunday night, and the concert was on the radio - so I got two for the price of one smile.gif

I'm going to be at the Alte Oper for The Creation on Friday night - so will try to guess which one of the fiddlers you are wink.gif

Have a good one.

Mods: don't understand why this thread has ended up in "Adverts"!

Please can you move back into "Life in FFM"?

Sorry, won't be playing tonight as I have the week off. (OK, I'm not that sorry to have time off...) But if you want to look for me at another concert, I'm the almost painfully skinny woman with strawberry blond wavy hair. Feel free to say hi after the concert!
