Hello!!!

I am moving to Köpenick in 2 or 3 weeks with my boyfriend and baby. It was a bit of a hasty decision, as we were getting desperate to find a place (and for the price its gorgeous!!!) as our baby is due in just over a week ohmy.gif ! I know that its quiet, and isn't the best place to live in Berlin in terms of young people and families but for a couple of years until I start working full time again its perfect.

I was just wondering if anybody lives in köpenick?
Or does anybody know any good tips about the area?
I also wanted to be a day mother (tagesmutter) so if anybody needs anyody or knows any contacts I would be happy to help... after establishing my relationship with my baby of course!

Thank you rolleyes.gif

i live just down the road, i don't have too much information and know nothing about tagesmutter...sorry...köpenick seems ok though, obviously altstadt is beautiful and in parts has a very original feeling to it...i found a lovely bar which serves food, but only a few things though...potatoes, schnitzel (hamburger schnitzel also available smile.gif), sauerkraut and gurkin...it's great. sorry, this post isn't of much use i guess. but there's nice land out there around, großer müggelsee is not too far away (just the other side of friedrichshagen) ahh talking of friedrichshagen, the polizei out there are very nice. my van was abgeschleppt from köpenick once and 110 told me to go to the police station in friedrichshagen for some reason, they told me where my van had been put but then kindly offered to drive me there, to am wulheide. lovely guys. have fun!

ooohh i'm not too sure, although i think it was on laurenzstr. if you're walking away from the rathaus (which also does very nice food in the cellar, a little bit more pricey but still quite reasonable) and towards lindenstr, the bridge, then it's the first right, and half way down the road on the left. yeah you'll see me, i'm the guy with the hair and beard who everyone thinks is scottish, but i'm not. wink.gif my girlfriend studies at best sabel mode school on lindenstr. so i'm around there a bit, especially in summer, i love köpenick in summer!
