At least five of us will be untangling ourselves from the grape vines to hit this. Any tips are appreciated. And if anyone wants to meet up, let me know.

I'll also be going to the time warp pre-party show Friday night, if anyone's doing that. The 45€ ticket for the actual time warp event was a bit steep, so we'll be getting our museen on.
Elfenstar
where's the pre-party show?
about Museums, there's a little booklet out and available. I know the Landesmuseum for Technik by the Planeterium has a whole range of progarms going on and of course it's a highlight to get into the Wasserturm and the Schloss, but like last year, I'm suer there'll be long lines for thsoe things. it might be cool to meet up for a drink somewhere, but too large a group will only mean chaos unless you got one dictator who says where to go. I'm going with two gal pals.

Intro Intim, at the Maimarktclub. Hot chip will be there (kind of; dj set), the foals are good, and stereo total is fun. And more. Should be a decent show. Pretty full lineup for only 18 euro. Well, 18 euro if you can figure out to get tickets before the door... which I can't right now. Lautstark records has tickets on sale, but I doubt I'll get there before Friday. I think I'm going to give them a call and see if I can put them on will call or something.

Big groups absolutely suck. Just two of us on Friday, and for Saturday we're already planning to break away. Let me know if you're up for Friday or a drink on Saturday. And if you are, big dictatorish about it and tell me where and when.

Just saw the Frankfurt post, which reminded me... this is tomorrow.

Elfenstar, I'd love to grab a drink. I'll pm you my number if you're still interested.

Also... lautstark doesn't have tickets for tonight after all. Just the main event. I'm going to buy online. If anyone's going to that, let me know.

Lange Nacht was, as always, crowded, but interesting. I waited 40 minutes to get into the crypt at the Schloßkirche, which sucked caused it was windy and drizzly, but once inside, the tour guides were entertaining and it was interesting nonetheless. I also went into the mosque in Jungbusch and was appalled to see a young German couple kissing in there! I also went into the synagogue (first time also), an artists workshop in Jungbusch and the free mason's headquarters on the L block. it was really interesting. i also had a yufka at "City Döner" close to the train station. yum.

as ususal too much to see and do, but this year i purposely avoided the party places like Landesmuseum and Kunsthalle. anyone else wanna share their tours? wink.gif

btw, there was so much going on in Mannheim last night - "my" city was hopping!

Way too much to do and see this weekend. My head was kind of spinning with all the options. Well, it was kind of still spinning from Friday night anyway. cool.gif

We went to the kunsthalle for the dnb duo "bulldog," and Ron Carter, the jazz bassist. Pretty darn good. The girls painted, and I took 784 pictures of the fountain and Wasserturm.

We rode the sonderzug around a bit, mostly for the cheap beer. And went to Alte Feuerwache for the graffiti exhibition, complete with breakdancing and djs.

Didn't see one eighth of what we wanted to, but still a good time. They should spread this out over a weekend. Lange Wochenende Der Museen has a nice ring to it.

But yeah, Mannheim was on fire last night. Between the museum night, the time warp festival, and the scorpions at SAP, we had to ride on the top of the train to get home.
